Default Oil Filter for a 4x4 Saphire Cosworth

Can someone clear this up please

which on of these is for a 4x4 saphire cosworth?

I have the second one on the car at the moment but ford gave me the first one and it seems to big to me

efl90 is for 4x4 saphs and escos's

the stumpy one is for a 2wd cossie

ford offer them in crates of 16 (i think) too - bit more discount the more you buy

can't see there been a problem as its used on 2wd cossies - the only reason its so small on them is that space is a limiting factor due to the engine mounting arms

I thought that was the case for a 4x4 and a 2wd has more room but guess not

The 2wd has more room diameter wise but less for length hence the short fat filter
The 4x4 has more room for length and less for diameter hence the longer thinner filter.
Neither will fit the other way round so buy the correct one!

but room wise it won't fit on a 4x4 will it? too long hits the engine mount or am I totally wrong?

thats it... thats where it is stu... does anyone have the code to order it from ford? The person in ford said the filter will fit on loads of fords including Mondeo's and new Focus's? So could be I got the wrong one...

If you have the correct EFL90 filter and it is fouling on something then it is likely to be the oil union where the turbo oil feed joins the block! This runs very close to the filter and may be aligned wrong or perhaps someone has fitted an oil pressure gauge and used a union in this area which is now fouling the correct filter? Could be the reaason they fitted the wrong one in the 1st place perhaps???
