Rod you must be well happy now that you and Mark have set another new record
that is a awesome speed over 1.5 miles.
Both of you have put in so much time and money, it is good too see all the hard
work has paid off big time in the end.
when i spoke to Mark at the start of the week he still had a bit to do to the car
glad to see it all come together for you Rod.
Well done
Keith

Too many posts.. I need a life!!
206mph that's just amasing!!
Just thinking as well, if it ran out of revs rather than puff could it go faster with slightly larger rear wheels/tyres to increase the gearing slightly?
That's amasing, what does it feel like? is it stable?
Awesome, well done both Rod and Mark
I don't think that will ever be beaten by another Cossie.
I bet it could probably do 200mph 4 up?! that's how mad that car is, i mean it's a f**king four door family saloon!!!!!!

Firstly a BIG thanks to Mr Rod Tarry for bringing his amazing car to Terminal Velocity 2005. An event aimed solely at raising money for UNICEF(oh and having a bloody good time!)
His fastest speed of the day was 206.08 mph.
Bettered only by Joel English in a Dodge Viper with 215.7 mph.
Full results will be posted later today hopefully on http://www.tv2005.co.uk
Or if somebody else wants to host them i can send them out!
Many thanks again
David McCarthy

So just how many 200+mph runs has this slut done then? (the CAR, not Rod or Mark)

Oh, btw it turns out infomation about the runway length isnt right, was about 1.4-1.5miles of accelerating space at most, then the braking area (which might be able to be used for more accelerating, depends how much room you need!)
There is a load of emergency bit rough concrete braking area if need be though, if your nuts...

Its reliability is actually quite amazing when you consider it's being driven daily and except for TOTB this year, it goes to shows and events on its own steam
That makes the 206 mph all the more outstanding to me

Hi
Had a great day but not perfect my gearing was a tad short & Mark ran out of revs & hit the limiter at about 1.4 miles & that was 209mph. Mark was backing off at the gate & recorded 206.08. No point in running again cos 8300rpm in 5th is crazy . There is a 210 in the car no doubt about it & we have a cunning plan .
The Viper was 206 most of the day & then ran a 215 , Totally awsome & proud to be second behind a great car & a nice guy. The yellowbird Porsche did 193 & the 1000bhp TVR was in the 180's with the other Vipers. 1/4 mile was a joke 12.5 @ 101mph i think & the car was undrivable & at 45% all the way down. I had done a 201.3 at Brunters a few weeks ago so no desire to do it again .
Rod
210 is three times the legal limit & sounds nice to me .

Nice to finally meet you today Rod.......Not what i expected at all, like a fookin mad teenager.. .....Never met someone your age who still has so much enthusiasm, your a credit to yourself mate and the car is a credit to you and mark.
Hope you keep running it for a while yet mate,it`s an inspiration for others and that magic 210mph is definitely attainable with yours and Mark`s attitude and commitment....
