Default burgers for BBQ - what do you do?

having a barbie tomorrow and i'm gonna make my own. following a recipe of delia's (the saviour of both home cooking and NCFC ). gonna be 1/2 pounders, made of pure rump steak

last year i followed fat tongued mockney oliver's recipe for 'botham burgers' but they were shit.

what do you normally have? birds eye, own brand diesel burgers (so called cos they taste like they've been cooked in a pan of diesel) or make your own?

if you make your own, stick the recipe up. do you put onion in the burger, or leave it for the bap?

and what's your favourite sauce or relish?

Andreas, sounds like a good burger. depends on the quality of the meat though. do you just get normal minced beef, or proper minced rump steak?

Waitrose Aberdeen Angus 1/2 pounders. The finest burgers in my opinion... they are expensive but worth it. can't be arsed to make my own!

Although the £60 Wagyu beef burger they used to serve in Tuscan Steak were awesome. That closed down though They serve a £70 Kobe beef burger in Zuma I think and they are supposed to be 'mighty fine burgers' as well but not had one myself

Don't forget if you want that realistic fast food chain flavour to add some minced cows udders, hooves, tail ends, etc

Few chillies would'nt hurt, local butchers is easier.
Did a bbq for 20 few weeks back, was mad, but got board with cooking for 3 hrs.

see, i've tried with binding the whole lot together with breadcrumbs and egg, but don't rate it. pure meat is better imo.

I tend to get the Tesco finest ones with rock salt and cracked black pepper in them.

As said above, pukka burger sauce. If not the burger relish

Nice to see someone else who like it with just meat.

Dunno if the meat I buy is any special other than its ecological or whatever they call it. Hopefully from happy cows.
