Default Let down by RS driver

This has to be a first but I have to have a rant about another fellow RS driver. I was led to believe that we have to stick together and look after each other - how-ever this view has been rethought - ill explain

Driving home from dinner this evening, on a road which has already coursed some stone chips due to it being relayed very recently, as I care for my work/paint work I don't tend to speed up this road any longer.
So there I am minding my own business on this road doing 25-30mph - slow I know but the think of the stone chips - then from nowhere comes this RS 500 over takes me and kicks a load of small gravel stones onto my car in the process - now then E572 *** you know who you are and Im not happy

Rant over now

Behave Ive only just washed and polished the car - you couldn't have missed it, it sparkles especially under with his lights - he was riding my arse for long enough before he over took - if that wasn't the case then you may have had a point

I did a similar thing visiting a mate before Ford Fair this year. Loose chippings = braking down to 15mph and kerb crawling! There was a queue of about 5 people behind, but it was only for quarter of a mile or so. Why would anyone want to go fast enough to chip all the paint off their arches/doors anyway??! If you find out who the driver is, you should speak to him and let him know your mind. No need to get violent, but whether he was aware of the reason you were doing it or not, it should be brought to his attention for future reference I think

Sorry, have to agree with Lou, it aint right nice to have your pride and joy chipped up by a speeding vehicle... however, maybe if the road had been relaid recently but had not just been done that day, maybe the guy didn't realise he was kicking as much crap up onto you as he thought....

If I was going that slow, with someone right up behind me, I would have pulled over.

Sucks you got showered in stones though.

That is, if he was behind you for a while, not sure after you've said this:

then from nowhere comes this RS 500 over takes me
he was riding my arse for long enough before he over took

like steve said - there is a bit contradictory info from your posts.

all i can say is shit happens so get over it. If you are worried that much about your car getting a stone chip dont drive it - simple really.

he obviously doesnt care about the stones flying up against his bumpers and skirts and sills so he maybe doesnt care so much about the condition of his rs500 so maybe he should of just bought a normal cossie if he just wants a speed thing. that sounds buit stupid actually dont it?? i know what i mean tho lol

lou, these things happen, some1 in a audi touched parked against me other day wen i was standing by the car!! he couldnt see why i commented to him bout what he had done just coz he had a 53 reg audi a4 and mines a p reg escort.

no matter how much we wana wrap our cars up in cotton wool, it aint gonna hapen these days especially if u use it daily coz so many people have company cars now or just new things on finance that people dont care about a car these days unless theyre an enthusiast like us all

I was in my Volvo truck one day and i keep that spick and span like my Cosworth and a guy over took me on a freshly stoned road and coverd me with stones , ha! one of our drivers was coming the other way and we was talking on the cb and i warned him of the pratt coming towards him so he hit the throttle and showerd this guy with stones .

1 great result

At Donny South someone decided to do a few donuts on tarmac before putting his Saph Cos back on the trailer. Got a nice stonechip on the side of my Series One. Still, you can't be angry at someone enjoying their car - and keeping a big queue of people waiting to get out entertained!

What can I say you'd nearly all over take me thats fine id rather have a mint car than 1 with stone chips on the underneath & sides - i did think about making him earn the overtake but then he was in a RS500 and me RS2 - i think he still would have laughed at me and covered me front in stones instead - you just can't win.

For the record I am far from a curb crawler I like to get everywhere in record time just like anyone else just not on that road any more unfortunately
