my mate has bought a diff that is supposed to be a quiafe how can you tell if he takes the back cover on it will there be any marks on it? or has anyone got a pic of one?? thanks

 

nope not on the outside as they use std casing

take back plate off and take some pics

I was scrolling down and saw the pic of an open diff with Quaife clearly stamped on it, not taking any notice of user names so thought steve had stripped his and was asking if it was diff. Typed my reply and though...bah, it's someone else posting a helpful pic....but couldn't be arsed deleting it so just changed the name. Extremely useful for the thread, I know!

I remeber when I took my old 'box to Bernie @CTS he told me Quaife gears are gold/bronzey whereas standars are silvery/grey, I think?
