Front Diff Removal

How easy is it to remove the front diff on escort cosworths? my mechanic is having a bit of trouble with it, says he has to shift the engine to get the diff out.

Support the engine and drop the sub frame as its a lot less work than removing the lump!

You dont have to move the engine....it'll be tight on the 'o' ring and x shaft...
