Never heard of em. But if I was gonna buy a bike I would buy one from a known bike manufacturer, rather than one marketd by Ford. As you know Ford will have got the cheapo crap in, whacked their name on it and hiked the price, so for the same money you can get something a LOT better....
Plus, if you get a Ford one you won't raise much dosh - not if ya by the side of the road fixing the blasted thing every 5 minutes, fpmsl

The Ford bike will rust and fall apart if you ask me
Some goon on here will probably try and put a flamer kit on their arse whilst riding it too or put a flap in their helmet and claim that their reduced body heat gave them a higher top speed

What a piece of crap!! The design has to be at least 5 yrs old with a crappy single pivot - oh and love the old school bellows on the shox rather than some decent seals. I wouldnt pay 59.99 for it thats for sure!

Why would you pay a minimum of £800 for a bike your gonna use for a charity cycle?
Don't be daft - you can hook yourself up with a good, fully working well specced bike nowadays for less than £300 - I know cos my bro has been running a mountain bike shop (see actual SHOP Ginge ) for the past 8 years

dont wanna burst ya bubble vut a full sus bike for
300 quid is shite
think of it logically, 300 quid for a full bike, shippingm distibution and then selling in a store, remeber that cycles have a MAX profit of 30%, that means the bike costs about 70 to 100 quid to make, thats for R&D ect, mate your talking crap, you can not get a decent full sus bike for 300 quid, you can get a pretty bike for that, with cable ( ) disc brakes that LOOKS the part, just like ya can make a 1100 saxo look like a real power jap style machine, shame its all bolt on bollocks and actually SHITE
now ya bro RUNS a bike shop, whats the name of the one he runs, i only ask as i was managing a cycle shop from the age of 16 and i left the game as there NO MONEY in it unless ya own a shop, but its alot of work due to being busy in the summer and bored in the winter
now due to the fact that ive prob delt wioth most cycle shops in central london as ive been working around em since the age of 13 when i first started as a saturday boy i think im slightly more than qualifed to comment on the situation, the reason for me leaving halfords was i was STUCK in the cycle section and i didnt wanna be there but due to my knowlage i couldnt move untill there was a replacement, now that would never happen due to the shite wages the company pays
now if ya would like to know the specs of all 11 of my bikes feel free, not one of them was purchased from halfords OH and not one of them has any suspention as i have found i dont need it
oh and i had one of the first 10 gt lts frames in the country when they was first released due to my then relationship with carrati, thats how much i was involved in that game, just after a while ya discover that women are more fun to ride than bikes and my sunday training turned into nursing a hang over
dont judge people based on what you see, some people are very good at some things but choose not to talk about it as it bores the pants off most people
still i would like to know the shop your brother runs, would like to now what stuff it sells and what his yearly takings are to discover if its a REAL bike shop or not
boxxer works for a REAL bike shop, but hes fooking good and knows more than me these days

You can get a perfectly relaible and light ish front suspension bike for around £300 that will be durable and pleasant to ride for a novice/intermediate rider. You dont want full suss for a charity road ride. If you need any help pm me as there are clearly too many 'experts' on here
ps. Can the KEITH please explain what is wrong with single pivot bikes please. Having owned at 4 multi link bikes over the years ( Giant ATX990, LTS, Kona Stinky and Rocky Mountain) i've just returned to a single pivot Santa Cruz and combined with the latest generation shocks it pedals far better than anything i've ever ridden AND less flexible laterally and a lot more robust and easy to maintain. The only better bikes IMO are the VPP bikes but to be honest I couldnt justify the extra cash because the performance just isnt 'that' much better. Pivot location and design is far more important. Most multi link bikes are basically a single pivot design that only use the linkage to drive the shock only anyway to give a rising or falling rate...........and i dont really count the 'horst link' or seatstay mounted 'horst' links as real multi link bikes either
THAT blue bike is a Unified rear triangle which is rubbish.......because when you stand up your weight is on the swingarm and your basically riding on a sprung hinge And when you sit down you bob around like a cork in the sea unless you massively overdamp the shock.

dont think its too many experts its too many opinions
just like some people swear by fwd and others rwd and then the idiots swear by 4x4
its down to personal preference
i personally knownthat any suspention bike is gonna be pointless on a charity bike ride, same as of road tyres are too
but i also dont use suspention off road, just cause i perfer the feel without and ive used a fair few too
supose we have confused him enough, in a nut shell take matt1600i's advice as he has just said what i was gonna say anyway, avoid full sus for 300 quid !!!!

Just did London to Brighton on my full susser...lol 5.5 inches front and rear
Slicks were used and to be truthful, I dont think i'd have been within an hour of my time on knobbly tyres.....
To put in perspective, on the flat on slicks i can easily spin my top gear indefinately.....easy as walking....on normal MTB tyres......maybe do it for 5-10 minutes and you can feel the effort in your legs

Cant beat Giant for cheap light frames and VFM. I'll bet my ass my local shop would either discount that price or chuck in some free goodies too.

giant was the bigest manufactuer for bikes for years, made all the eatern bikes for the big companys but they never bothered to get involved in hard selling, but then when they supply trek, kona, marin to name a few, whats the point
deffo cant go wrong, there a comfortable frame too
avoid saracen

ginge where, at any point, has the thread starter asked for a "top spec, all singing all dancing" bike? He wants a fooking bike to do a charity cycle on FFS, not enter the downhill forest world championships on
My bro rins Abbey Cross Cycles in Waltham Cross (just down the road from Ford) which is also a Motorfactors, and has done since he was 16, 8ish years ago. It has been there a lot longer than that as I remember getting my first (possibly second) bike there when I was just a lad - and I'm 23 now!
Anyway, you CAN get yourself a decent bike for £300, or you can build/spec yourself one for a lot more. Maybe it won't have super-bling disc brakes or fooking suspension on it, but unless your a serious biker you probably won't want it anyway - you said yourself you have 11 bikes, non of which have suspension on em. I had a bike with front suspension and preferred it without tbh...
And don't be a complete dick - of course I'm not gonna tell you the financial status of his business but he's just bought a house (@ 25, never rented, straight into buying) so must be fairly good eh?
