I don't think it's a case of criticising Tim Burton's film-style, as it's proven that he's a VERY clever director, I think it's more a case of criticising him changing a well-known story that's been around for years.

It'd be like re-making Titanic and having Americans save the day by stopping the ship from sinking, or Pearl Harbour and having early-warning radar detect the Japanese suicide-planes and intercept them before they can do the damage they did...

Some stories are not meant to be changed......Hollywood, obviously, disagree.

And remind me what happened at the end of the original one too! I seem to remember that all the other kids were greedy and became victims of their greed, and Charlie won, but can't remember what happened at the end.

Charlie wins, they then take a ride in the great glass elevator, out the top of the building, and fly over the landscape.

That's how the original one finishes - not going to bother seeing the new one, as the original is a classic I don't want ruined.

All the refferences to his other films (Tim Burton) WHO GIVES A FUCK its about one of the greatest childrens stories ever written by aurgubly one of the greater writers not about some fuckin film director.
