Default why are jap cars slow???

i raced my mate last night who has just bought a supra with graphs to prove 465bhp. so i said come on the lets go to the private race track and see how fast it is
we did a standing start and i completely wasted him when he eventually catches up he gives it i was on low boost i didn't realise so we went again and i still creamed him. so how can it be 465bhp if my 340bhp saph beat him ??

1. His car isn't making the power claimed.

2. Your car has a million billion bhp.

Supras weigh just under 1500kg, not that heavy.

Either the geezer cant drive or its miles from the power its meant to be.

LOL@Title tho, I think TOTB1/2/3/4 shows otherwise

well most of the jap cars i have come accross quote massive power figures but aren't that quick it seems you have to spend a hell of a lot of money to have a quick one. i didn't mean all jap cars im sure there is some really fast ones out there sorry for the generalisation. its just from my experience they get great power figures but dont seem to be able to do anything with it

Curb weight of standard Supra 1,456kg, so with 465bhp = 319bhp per tonne

Curb weight of standard Sapphire 1,250kg, so with 340bhp = 272bhp per tonne

Ipso facto, Supra only has standard power (321bhp) or he couldn't drive a slippery stick up a dog's arse. Try swapping cars to see which it is .

He's blind....and fat....and usually rides a moped?

My actual answer is that they got the decimal point in the wrong place and it's really 46.5 brake

Tims R34 that ran a 9.9 at TOTB was in full road trim with AirCon, DVD, Sat Nav, and even had the TV playing when running in the drag final...

Only about 700bhp ish too... (well, thats what T4Zs are good for so gotta be really)

there is no reason why an evo could not do 160000 miles at 350 bhp and be just as fooked as a cossie
