CVH cooling problems
Hi,
Igot a mk1 Fiesta, with a RS1600i engine fitted. It all runs fine, but there is 1 'small' problem :
The cooling of the engine.
When driving the car, the cooling is OK
When idling (or in a traffic jam) the cooling is OK aswell.
But when I shut the engine off, wait a few minutes, the water comes poring out the expansiontank. (cooking)
I changed the thermostat for a 82 deg. one, but it doesn't ake any difference.
All the hoses are just warm, but the one fronm the thermostat to the expansion tank is very hot...
(normaly the water goes from the small hose, to the expansiontank, and go to the radiator ....
But when teh circulation is stopped, this happens.
Anyone know what causing this problem and what I can do about it ???
The car isn't loosing much water... but still. every time it does this there is a spot on the ground of 3 - 4 "
The car doesn't loose water when running... that's the strange thing about it.
Thanks !!!!

1 make sure u havent got too much water in the header tank as it has to expand... hence its called an expantion tank.
2 remove the thermo stat and see what the effect is.
3 check the fan cuts in and out...
