ot: After Decks and mixer

Hmmmm, little trip up to Fabric one night methinks.
If I'm being totally honest, I lost interest in the drum 'n bass scene about 3 years ago, after I stopped playing out and buiying records.
It's amazing how that if you stop for a few weeks, you drop well behid as to what's new.........
I also found it lost a lot of energy for me about 3 years ago, but I have heard from numerous friends who I used to go out with that it's back in a big way.
Dave - any sets you have on MP3/CD I'd happily pay to purchase...........

just finding my feet
fook me this is a long topic but a class one, no bitching and so fooking class replies too
and not forgeting "dave the wedding dj", fooking cried reading that
westy belts will be fine and in all honesty dave seems to be mustard at this game
but what pon said about the pick up is anoying, more anoying when ya play in a club for the first time on d/d decks when ya used to belt driven, i made a right coont of me self, couldnt mix a house tune at first
then i got home and couldnt mix on mine so i got 1200's, but the belts for home use are cool, just need a slightly different style to mixing
dave im gon a pop by fabrics in the next few weeks for another reason, hope to hear ya play there

house / hard house / trance / nrg is much harder to mix than dnb
dnb has so many beats, its relativly easy to slyly pitch it back in, if it outsyncs
house etc.. is one set of beats, at a slower bpm.. if you fuck up.. EVERYONE knows it!
trust me!
i play house at a bar in london city called sosho... just to pull the women by the way

just finding my feet
dave i find house alot easier than some garage tunes, as its one continious beat, also cause its slower so when im a little worse for wear i can get it and quickly fade it then on to the next tune
but my favorite thing i done at times was the birthday shout outs when i was really stuck ( i fooking hate the track "pleaure" by brass tooth, will haunt me for ever i swear )
never tried to mix DnB tbh as its not really what im into
nust admit untill i hear a few on here i used to think cause i used to play bass for heartless crew when i was at school ( as they was in my music class and jermaine aka fonte was fooking tallented for his age, top guy too , used to knoiw him friom when i was 10, aint seen him for 3 years though atleast so not claiming where "mates" any more or other shit like that) i used to think that playing in a club i as the man and ive done it ect, even thougb i stopped after 6 months
but hearing the guys on here and some of there work ect shows just how shit and blinkered i was
fair play to ya all

LOL - what a shithole that place was
I remember all that Dream FM stuff around the same time I was buying records at Remix in Camden.
I remember Bagley's a lot! The dad of some goon at school used to own the place, so we'd be in there a lot, and far too young!
Wonder what happened to the rest of the Dream DJs then - Spinback, Mixmatt etc etc

Can't have been that long ago.
Remember MC Ruff dying. Went to the "farewell party" at Camden Palace - one of the greatest nights of my life. 3 a.m. and still dancing to P-Funk Era brings back a lot of memories.
Stevie A - quality
