Performance Ford July issue, in the grudge match you had a bonnet cable snap, i also have a front pro alloy cooler, i've just got back off hols and the bonnet cable i think has just snapped (lots of slack in cockpit) any help would be greatful off anyone as i took half my engine bay out to stop it being stolen and really could do with opening the bonnet to put it back together lol

I used a coat hanger thru one of the bonnet vents.. Alternately, get under the car and go from there.. Thing is, the GRS was right in the wy from that angle

Cheers for help i'll go and give it a try, standing infront of the car, would the cable have pulled the catch to the left??

I have the old style pro alloy which has the fans on the front as well so there is very hard to get my hands up there!!! Pass me the grinder

yep, it goes from right to left the catch,...

Depending on where the cable has snapped, try and grab the cable thru the bonnet vent and pull it.. maybe using pliers to grip it...

No idea how he got it open in the end.
I suggested a claw hammer and an angle grinder but he was having none of it

jack the front of the car up and you will be able to reach the catch from underneath going between the rad & turbo.

The cable hadn't snapped it had just unhooked itself off the catch itself

Apparently, they took allsorts off it, bonnet vents etc. Was why i noticed it, as it had something stuck in the filler neck - i asked who'd been playing a trick on the lad
