12mm anti roll bar on an S1 and a 16mm anti roll bar on the S2.

That is the only difference if I recall correctly....

dingy, Correct, but an S2 seems to have a bigger roll bar than an S1 hence the question "would it be wise to change to an S2 roll bar"

ofcourse a 16I setup would be the best, but you dont see many parts for em kicking around, or at the price of 2 roll bar which will be better than an S1 i would think

Vroom - No. Antiroll bars should be as small as possible to stop excessive roll.

Tim - do you mean the tie bars? and how come only some S1's?

Reason i ask, is that im sure i saw the rear wishbone bushes advertised as a diff part no to S2.

Larger rear anit-roll bar doesn't automatically mean better handling!!

It can sometimes be an advantage to removed it altogether.

The best rear suspension is off the Mk IV Van - or so Ahmed Bayjoo told me. He said the weak link on the Mk IV was the cheap n cheerful rear suspension he said a multi link set up or the Van beam is the best way to go at the back.
16i front end with the subframe is the best way to go upfront but you'll need the 16i gbox casing to clear the subframe.
