What you describe sounds like an extremely nasty road car. It sounds more like a race car, that may occasionally be used on the road, not a road car that is occasionally used to race.

Given british weather, a car with no heater, would be useless for quite a bit of the year.

People's interpretation of "road car" does vary from a proper road car, to the other extreme, which IMO is something like say an Ariel Atom, or something like a Caterham Superlight, or Kieths Skyline.

They are road legal, but their primary purpose is not for public roads.

I made a comparison to WRC cars, and people on another forum said they too are road cars.

Yea....they are . I always thought they were purpose built rally cars, that had to be road legal. I wouldnt for one second describe them as a road car.

A format like the US pump gas drags, would be a better event IMO. All cars must drive to and from the event. Drain fuel, and full with regular pump fuel at a filling station, and drive along a 30 mile route, before being allowed to race.
Anyone failing to complete this, cannot enter.

just read the post roughly
but in holland near where i live we have also 1/4 mile sprints
last year there were some golf vr6 they thought they were quick but with
me standard ERST i was quicker last year it was the first time
This year the cars are quicker there aren't golf vr6 anymore
but still it isn't as fast as in england, the quickest is 11.2 i think but the most of them or between 13 - 17 sec. There are also some bikes which are quick they have times of 9.8 sec

greets Johan

Well i ain't a reserve anymore. Really can't be arsed with it. Really enjoyed it last year too. Just can't be bothered to do anything more with the car at the moment, there's a lot more important things to get sorted.

Touche .

My car isn't fast enough and I'm scared of breaking the transmission doing a full bore launch . Mind you, it still does 0-100 in 10s with a "baby" launch .

Dingly was telling me all about your car and as I had obviously upset you with my "pikey" posts, I thought that any chance of a passenger ride would be right out of the window. However, hopefully you have a sense of humour....

I was unable to do Totb2 cos it was while the car was off the road awaiting its new engine. I was hopeing to do totb3 but if you remember it broke an uprated driveshaft the day before the event.
I do choose where i compete but never duck a challenge.
The EVO boys are running a new type of event 30-150, this cuts out the launch where most cars are destroyed, even Mike could enter this. Maybe this is the way forward.
