xr3i 16v turbo?
as the xr3i is a 1.8 130 bhp zetec engine, will it be the same as turbocharging any other zetec 1.8 engines?
the plan is to buy a '94 xr3i and turbocharge it by putting a erst manifold and turbo on, running the megasquirtnSpark-extra managementhttp://megasquirt.sourceforge.net/extra/
is it possible anyway without too many big modifications?
thx 4 your input guys

The 105 hp version has a smaller throttle body, but that doesn't make a big difference when turbocharged. It has much larger of a effect in N/A configuration. Other differences are the ecu, cams and air-flow meter, but as you have chosen to move to the much superior management the AFM and chip won't interest you. Mild cams are also often quite good for turbo applications.
Don't hesitate to contact me with anything related to the management side. I've used MS for years now with very good results. I've always wondered why so few are using it in UK. Elsewhere it's becoming the most popular managent now. 100£ for everything it offers is really superior value for money IMO.

I think the MS might be too complicated at first sight for many ppl, as it comes as a 'solder it yrself kit' which requires -some- skill to get it working properly, fortunately there are also fully assembled kits for about 180 pounds, which is still big value for money indeed considering all the features

Secondhand working units are going here for as low as 60e. Some youngster even offer 20e assembly service at our local MS forum. I just can't undestand why people bother with cossie management conversions etc. For a zetec with 36-1 and EDIS-4 system already there, MS is soooo plug-n-play.
