Default Priming a turbo

Hi all.

Fitted my new turbo today ..but having a few problems priming it..

Ive fitted a T piece and the oil pressure device for my gauge on the back pf the block

Took the spark plugs out and a coil lead and cranked the car over..after about 10 mins there still was no oil coming out the oil retern pipe to the sump..its new oil and new filter.

And tips?

As above it can take ages sometimes. If I were you I would disconnect the phase sensor as well while your cranking it over.

try putting the leads and plugs in and disconnect the coil and undo the top of the oil line into a milk bottle an rs dont have a phase sensor 10 mins is far to long should only take 10 sec if that

Taking the spark plugs out will make it crank over quicker..

Sounds like just crank it over for a long time and wait..

I might take the oil feed pipe off and check its not blocked and make sure oil is coming out the bk of the block..

you should of done it with the oil feed pipe off in the first place, whilst holding the compressor with long nose mole grips so it doesnt turn whilst cranking!!

Yeh i done that..fook all is dripping out..

I did a oil change aswell with new oil filter which hasnt helped..and just turning it over isnt enough..I was told the turbo was primed anyway..has oil in it..might have to start the car up leave it for 10 secs to get better pressure ... then take coil off and bottom oil return pipe and try it again..

Sorted this now...I loosened the oil filter a few turns and cranked it over with coil off..waited till oil pissed out..Tightened oil filter bk up..Then cranked it over checking oil return pipe...which we had oil pissing out!!!! Turbo primed!

seems strange that it wasnt pissing out oil before you loosened the filter.

did you replace the plugs at the same time?
