Go direct to Germany and you'll save yourself a fair few quid. There is a place called Independant Motor Company on the outskirts of Reading that deals in them but you'll pay a premium for the privelage though.
Great cars and the look truly awesone

Try www.munichlegends.com/co.uk something like that. A good one will probably set you back about 7-10k. Munich legends will be able to source you a good one. Yes the are all left hookers

7 to 10K???
Best come over here to buy one then! They go for half that ammount over here!
Used to have one mintier than mint one with full BMW SH, Huge pile of receipts!
They handle well FOR AN EIGHTIES CAR so for example they will roll more than you'd expect but still very good to drive! With proper suspension very very very good on the twisties but lacks outright power and you need to rev them hard but it's great fun! Engine is reliable enough when taken care of and there are loads of goodies you can buy for them like carbon airboxes and stuff
Dogleg first takes some getting used to but once you're used to it no problem.
I sold mine to a mate and he still has it now and after 5 years of ABUSE (just ask Mike R, he's seen the vid lol) it's still going strong
*edited to say the brakes are shite! and there's an Italian version wich looks like a normal 320 and has a 2-litre M engine in it wich revs even harder *

DO NOT BUY FROM INDEPENDENT MOTOR COMPANY. Bought my e36 m3 from there and had no end of problems , aftersales service shite , i could go on all day, Munich legends are expensive but have a very good rep. Check the bmw car club website for more info, m power section, type in Independent and sit back and enjoy the previous posts. Good luck in your search.

There are the 2.3 16v ones and the 2.5 16v ones (and the odd converted Italian 2.0 jobby) and the 2.5 is the most powerfull one.
However this was the EVO 1 and 2 versions wich also featured different spoilers/bumpers, seats and steeringwheel and those will be MUCH more expensive!
Hartge build a few with the M5 lump in it and Alpina build a few with the Alpina B6 lump, both are rare, expensive and too heavy up front.

There SHITE!
Cost soo much when they go wrong. Munich Legends will rip you off. Independent will rip you off. Every fucker thinks cos its got a BMW badge on it. That you must be loaded! Vitually everything Ive bough for it was "Not in stock sir, will be a couple of days. Set of Leads is £160! Dizzy cap was £110 from a Bosch place! 225/45R16 tyres are very difficult to get hold of! Theres virtually no tuning stuff for them. Bar a carbon airbox and differnet management. And that will only give you 250 with Cams. for the princely sum of £3K
Buy a saff. Or better still a 3dr. Sometimes I wish I had!

There's loads of tuning goodies for them: twininjectors, cams, airboxes, manifolds, and lets not forget the obvious: headwork and so on....
Ever seen DTM M3's or heard them? I've seen one being build and trust me: it ain't slow
Outright power is not what it's all about...

E30 M3's rock ! I am building a tarmac rally car and have converted it to RHD , its quite easy to do , I did have to have an exhaust manifold made to clear the steering column , but I planned on having a manifold and system made anyway , and then moving the wiring over for the clocks , I'm having a full custom loom made for the car so I havent used any of the origianl wiring, but the mechanicals are very easy.
The DTM cars were getting about 380bhp from the 4 cylinder 2:5 , which is pretty good by anyones standard , the millington diamond engine which is the Cosworth equivelent of that cant get anywhere nere it , and they have changed there port design to replicate the bmw port shape and angle , my car is a 2:5 and should be about 320bhp ,
Mike Rainbird , get your kleenex out

Oh shit heres my money pit!
What Im trying to help him understand is that these are NOT cheap cars to run! BMW parts are a damn sight more expensive than even Cossie parts. As for tuning parts. Ive not seen anyone in the UK running dual injectors. The Carbon airbox, Alpha N management and a set of Cams (£2-3K) dont give the same sort of power gains that you'll get on a YB engine, from just a stg 3 set up. Which will be less than a grand. And there really isnt the range of parts available. Theres really only 3 exhausts off the shelf. And only 2 of those are SS!
Friend of mine has a Silver 2.5 engined car (Pics here) and hes still only 266 + a 75 Nos shot.
Anyway to try and help Spax.
As for going to Germany and picking one up. Generally the consensus is that all the decent cars are over here now! www.mobile.de is the German version of Autotrader. And as you'll see a lot are modified. And high mileage cars arent significantly cheaper. You'll be looking at spending 7-10 for a decent car. Slightly more for a Cecotto(rare) or Ravaglia (super rare) or Evo 2(rare) car. And another 3-4 more for a Sport Evo (pricey)
And Ive spent near another 2-2.5 on maintenance though admittedly I did get stung £1100 for a gearbox rebuild (that was whats called getting ripped off by Munich Legends! Especially as its still pissing oil out like theres no tomorrow!!!!! )
Any sensible questions bung em up.
