Default Squeaking / Knocking / Banging Noise!

Hi Guys,

I have a dodgy knocking type noise coming from my passenger side!

It happens all the time now!

It has happened since I de-greased underneath my engine on Sunday because it had shit loads of oil under there so I have a feeling I could have de-greased something I shouldnt have? One of my CV Gaitors were a bit dodgy so could it be this?

I will get some grease tommorow and check this tommorow night!

If I need to grease it, will I need to take the drive shaft out to do it or can I just jack the car up and do this?

If the boot is alright dude you can just pull it back, apply grease then secure back on. I dont know where you can buy the special clips though, Ford only sell them as part of a kit

If the boot is split or knackered it means you have to pop the shaft out and get a cv boot kit! (Not in that order preferably! )

what car is it btw, if the gatters are ok then all you need to do will cut the clips and pull them back and pack bearings and cup out with grease and recover with cv boot and cable tie in place. if the gatter is split then you will have to remove shaft to put new gatter on etc!

Just took it to a propshaft place and they jacked it up and the wheel nearly fell off!

The wheel bearing was shagged as well as the flange where the wheel goes on! (Tried not to giggle at flange)

Ł122 quid later and it should be sorted by half 4!

It is a place called Dave Mac Propshafts in Coventry! He was a nice bloke, he showed me exactly what was wrong, how the parts worked and what they were for so I understood what I was paying for! Top chappy!
