Basically your processor has exceeded the temperature limit set within the bios.

First job is to remove the processor fan and clean it, along with the heatsink. In most cases, this will rectify the problem.

Im presuming here that the fan works as your bios will probably have alerted you if it didnt.

PSU wont cause the processor to overheat (not directly anyway) but then yours is really pansy...

deffo look at replacing your processor fan or at least cleaning/checking it...

do you have any extra case fans? or do you just have the one built into the PSU?

you'd be SHOCKED at the difference between a Ł5 crappy CPU fan and a pukka 50quid jobby! :eeek:

also i presume your GFX card has its own fan too yeah?

make sure there isnt dust clogging up the heatsink! mine got totally clogged and cpu temp went up to 75!!!!!! cleaned it, put 2 more case fans on, an inny and an outy spent about Ł20 on the pair, temps now well down
if you take the heatsink off the cpu you will need to buy some thermal conductor cleaner and some more thermal paste stuff to tansfer the heat from the cpu to the heatsink. if you dont put any on then you will be seeing that warning quite often!

This can be your problem, as Dell cases are quite properly designed, and the airflow will go from side to fan instead of front over cards to fan, lol.

indeed having the side open will make it HOTTER as the cases are designed to draw air in certain positions for flow n stuff...

deffo get yourself at least 1 case fan... and double check your CPU fan...

unless you mean you dont have a CPU fan? in which case GO OUT AND BUY ONE NOW!!
