Dear All
I have just finished dynoing/mapping a customer 4G63 to run in TOTB this year, figures are as below;
97 Super Unleaded: 702Hp & 543LbFt
Klotz 118 Race Fuel: 810Hp & 620LbFt
All above run on 2.1 Bar boost with a 2.3L 4G63 and a GT42R turbo, rest of it is a secret!
Full Boost Between 4000-4400Rpm dependant on load (gear).
Hoping to make around 830Hp on my new engine which is the same spec as the package above but will be run a little closer to the "limit"!
Cheers
Simon
P.S. Graphs will follow soon.

That's a customer engine with a full 12 month warranty

We are hoping this customer engine/car runs 9's at TOTB and I want 8's from my new car, this may not be done for TOTB though.
The 42R is really nice, we wanted to stay away from the 42RS for the moment to retain good response. The 42R would suit your Skybus really well.
Insbro - I am running 2.5 Degrees away from Det on this engine so could make another 20Hp running a bit closer. Also on my engine I will run more boost, say 2.25 Bar to increase the power a bit.
This customer engine comes with a full 12 month warranty as well!
Cheers Si

So is this to say he's gonna run gas aswell on this new engine then Doug, if you watch the TOTB III DVD he states that it already runs 800bhp a year ago, or is this on Gas back then?

Still a wicked car and acheivement!

Wonder what the 12 month warranty is limited to in terms of use and milage.

I do 50K miles a year, and spend a fair few of them driving like a coont, bet he wouldnt warranty one to me for 12 months

Sounds good, if he keeps going with developing those engines it wont be long before he gets the same sort of figures the scandanavians have been getting out of YBs for years

Ditto Chip, fair play if he honours the warranty. I bet the small print is very small indeed

Will probably restrict it to the amount of runs they can do up the strip!

Are you playing the game where you compare his race fuel results to their normal fuel results then?

I totally agree, but was unsure of how the power was made a year or so ago on the Norris car, hence why I added that the scandanavians don't tend to use gas from my knowledge (all be it limited to others i'm sure )

But yes, from a 4 banger thats an amazing acheivement!
