Hi from a Ford nut in Australia
Hi I have just joined the forum. I am a British Ford nut. I am the editor of our newsletter for the Cortina Mk1 Owners Club Aust.
I have a 62 Consul Cortina 2dr, Mk3 XR3(please read restoration forum for helping me put a Zetec in this). Just wrecking my Mk2 2dr Cortina that a Studebaker ran up the rear. Also wrecking an old Rally Pak Mk2 Escort(for those who dont know what a rally pak is- its a sort of blunt nose RS2000). Just selling a Mk3 GT Cortina that was imported from England.
Also just sold a Mk1 cortina consul 2dr as well as a Mk1 Cortina GT Shell,and I also have a Falcon XR6, 4.0 straight six 164kw.
I have just added up how many cars I have had over the last five years
14 cortinas, 1 toyota celica(bought for the gearbox, a good 5speed conversion here in Aust.) Alfa Guiletta for the twin webbers and a Ford Laser TX3 4wd turbo(Mazda based) which was great to drive but expensive to fix.
so you can see I am slightly mad when it comes to Fords.

We do have some cossies, but they are few and far between.
RS500 were raced here in the group A days. Dick Johnson a racing driver icon here in Aussie had the quickest RS500 in the world.

andy is planning to have his car finished for national day,
and i am partly responable for him getting it ready,
as he has been restoring the car for a couple of years, and once i had the touring car display and track session sorted for national day, it gave andy a date to aim for as he did not want to miss out,
spoke to him the other day and he has the engine inn and is well on the way to finishing the car in time,
andy is going to drive the car himself as he is a very good race driver , and will have the car in 87 dick johnson colours, he is also manged to get some original DJR wheels from australia,
as used by johnson in 88 ect,
it will look the same as the 1/18 johnson model, with the correct shell sponcership,
did anyone notice my new bathurst 87 JAMES HARDEY sponcership stickers,
these where missing of my car and i finally got my sign guy to make some exact copys up for me.

Redumbdancy
Once again cheers Martin
Yep noticed the new graphics too
Just out of interest how come Andy has chosen to use the DJR wheels rather than the BBS splitties the car ran in '87?

out of choice, andy likes the DJR best and finished in gold look superb on the car,
most people think of the DJR car and see gold wheels as johnson had these made and was useing them for many years,
andy still has sets of the bbs wheels but wanted the DJR ones so is going to use them,
if he wanted to change them back its only one nut so its not as if he is stuck with them.
