Things were not looking good on my way home when the battery light came on, followed by the rev counter jumping all over the place - when the car was holding steady revs..

finally, driving along with the alarm going off signalled the impending death


it only had to get about 2 more minutes down the road

called the AA out a bit ago.. best go and see if they've turned up yet!

Oh dear. I recon its down to all the alarms, immobilisers and trackers etc u have on it. When I had it, it had an immobiliser and a disklock. Job done. Hope you get it sorted in time for the new motor.

i bet its the alternator or the fan belt has snapped

 

sounds like alternator i had the same problem on a nite b4 a show at 2am in the pissing rain

No probs guys, the rs made it home under his own steam! but first it flattened the AA guys battery pack and then refused to start for him!!
10 out of 10 for the AA mans persistence - but i got it running myself in the end! Lol, got him to tow me with the van and bumped it

Keith, have known about an alternator problem for a while, but when i had it checked it was ok - so just kept on motoring

Rick came round last night to test the alternator - tested fine again It's apparently just one wire that's dodgy and is causing all this
