Stage 1 or 3 chips, are newer ones better
Reason I ask, is that both our cars have been chipped at some point, stage 1 and stage 3.
Stage 1 is power engineering, stage 3 is chipmunk (?) or something like that.
Would there be much benefit in getting a more up to date chip from ahmed, karl, stu, etc... ?
I appreciate that the maps in the more recent chips may be as old as the ones we have, but I was wondering if there is much development going into these maps and whether there are any benefits in upgrading ?
I don't really want to go into a war of which is best, blah blah blah blah, just wondering from a technical point of view

I dont beleive there have been any big advances, if both cars run nicely now, i wouldnt spend the money on that personally, i would sooner spend it lapping the valves in or fitting a new oil pump etc.
Live map of course is a different story though, and THAT is where the smart money goes on a "chip"

Yeah live mappings wher its at if you ask me...
The car gets a custom map to how it performs with the bits fitted to that car, the problem with plug in jobbies is they are all set the same which might not be 100% for your car.

The stge 3 has a T34 so I guess its no good ? but thanks anyway.
I do want to take mine for a live map as soon as I can, i.e. once we have sorted everything else that had to be sorted and the wallet has been replenished!! She will get there in time....

Agreed on the live map thing, makes sense for a stage 3, but for my lil stage 1, no point
So I was wondering if a newer chip would improve driveability, economy, etc...

just finding my feet
should be fine then, just get someone with a afr gauge to test it on a drive
aslong as the fueling is spot on dont worry about it
i still think you need to get a real power car and not a girly power car like a stage 1 cossie, but then it will still be a girly 4x4 cossie but faster

Get off Ginge, it's stage 1 cos I want to use it every day.
I'd rather have a girlie 4x4 every day on the road than a manly 2wd every day in the workshop
Oh, and I have a manly 2wd for those occasions when my southernmost brain takes control
