The GT version actually goes surprisingly acceptabley for what it is, and they handle reasonabley too.
Seriously boring car, but reliable, so probably ideal for what you are after.
Invisible to the police as well, they wont even notice you.

A very good car and reliable. 200.000km or 300.000km isn't a problem for the engine.
You can take a look at the suspension at the front, they can make a "knock" noise, when it does you must change the upper "beam" i don't know how you say it in English but those things are a bad point, also a bad point are the "wiper axels" at the front, they can wear out easily.

I bought a 98 spec one just like the one in the pic brand new and it was ok(I work at Nissan so get a discount) It went ok, 150 bhp and you have to rev the buggers, was a bit bland but the best thing about it was the handling, absolutely superb on long bends. I would recommend them considering what you can get them for now.
97 spec had black door handles, clear rear indicators, all black steering wheel
98 spec one had colour coded door handles, orange rear indicators, black/silver steering wheel and silver effect gearshift surround
At some point after this spec changed to include 16" wheels and leather instead of half leather (in my opinion the half leather were better, nissan leather not to nice)
Their was also a limited run of chromoflair models with flick paint, these all had full leather I think

My driving instructor had a white GT back in 1997. He was a tit but the car went OK from what I remember. Although I wasnt really into booting it at that age and experience so difficult to give a full verdict.

with Pulsar GTIR brakes and coilover 1 off suspension
gonna look pretty much standard apart from wheels and stance
anyway....
been driving the pink gaymobile around for a few days and its pretty much a decent car, aircon, nice seats, pretty good power and induction sound , basically a decent family/nippy saloon for peanuts
look out for the tourismo version with full leather and a few more bhp
hope this helps a bit m8, they really are decent cars for not much cash

Quite impressive for an average car to have double wishbones

I have got one of them as a daily car. It is the P11 shape like in your photo. I bought it to replace my Astra GTE 16v as it was a bit bigger for ferrying 2 small boys around. Plus it has aircon which makes it good for going on hols etc.
The engine is very good but not particularly torquey low down - you need more than 4000rpm showing to get it to really go ( unlike the Astra which was really torquey for a 16 valve engine). However the handling is excellent and it reminds me of my wife's old Saxo VTS in that the car feels very "pointy" and chuckable.
According to Autocar they do about 130mph max and 0-100 in 23 seconds - reasonably quick but not rapid. Nothing has gone wrong on mine since I had it, passed MOT OK ( R-reg with 90k on clock ) a month ago.
It is quite good on petrol if you are cruising on bypass ( my normal commute ). I get about 37-38mpg out of it ( Computer lies and says 42 mpg!! ).
Also, one other thing it has a cam chain rather than a cam belt. I was also looking at the ST24 Mondeos but they seem to have more problems and not be a lot quicker as well as being thirstier
If you want to know anything else let me know
