Default Eeeeek!!! 200kg and 320 BHP, twin Blackbird engined Renault

Mental :

http://www.rallyusedparts.co.uk/showcarsbydate.cfm

"The Ultimate in performance..........

Shaped like a Renault Clio in a space frame, just over 200kg in weight and around 320bhp.

It has 2 x Blackbird 1100cc motorcycyle engines and revs virtually its head off at 16,000 rpm. There is nothing to touch this.

It has won every event it entered".

There isnt a shell, the "shell" is for cosmetic purposes only.

Not a chance that weighs 200kg!

Especially with driver and fuel to get it running!

Maybe they weight it on the moon?

My best guess is that it is 200kg without the engines in it.

I reckon each engine must be around 50 to 75kg, then the roll cage will be fairly substantial, all the suspension components wont be light as you don't want them breaking!

Then think about discs, calipers, weight of the Compo MLs it's on, tyres etc. Even the seat will be about 3kg!

Global GT Lights are still quicker than the Clio round Mondello, and they only have one YZF600 engine

Have done, and the fact you blindy pasted it without engaging your brain first is what made me think you might have been smoking crack, so have that back and have another for your trouble

for you there doug, that car was front wheel drive and indeed needs to be for the old "driving around like a coont with your handbrake on with the rear wheels parked on two mcdonalds trays" trick to work.
And please dont make it sound like it was me doing it, my car was parked up behaving itself like a good boring little alfa should be, i was just telling you how they were managing to do it thats all, i wasnt invovled in anyway!
