i dont like boost controllers myself,,, i believe that they are taking away one major factor of engine control away from the ecu?

would you run a seperate ingition controller?

not really as at mo i'm only usin a actuater to controll boost, the only problem is it runs more boost in higher gears.(due to more load).

the map sensor controlls fuelin to boost, so runnin a boost controller, as long as the ecu's mapped to run sed boost, will not have a problem.

but if the controller fails, its very much like if a airinj fails, or actuater pipe fails.

the apexi avc-r is very good althought it can be tricky to set up.

it allows you to set boost by rpm, gear etc. has loads of other features as well.

see here for more info http://www.apexi-usa.com/product_ele...=200&pageNum=1

That may not actually be possible at all, ie the rate the car accelerates in 1st might mean the turbo cant physcially spool up quick enough to keep with the demands you are making of it.

But TBH for what you want, just use an MBC, for just one set value they are great and they eliminate wastegate creep more or less totally, which will make a massive difference to 1st gear boost.

i use an a'pexi avc-r and find it excellent, need to read the manual and it all becomes clear. Will work with ANY ecu as it ONLY controls boost. to have gear selective boost you will need a compatible speed sensor, normally from a jap car ? i am going to use a custom one which also drive the stack speedo
