ok ok, i might be getting a RST on sat

and i want chatter not a fookin gay d/v like its got and you cant get it with mfi cos of the air flow meter.

i got me a SECS S8 so management no probs.

THERES A FEW ways to do it

ya need either a efi flywheel and convert the block or a 1.8 bottom pully for the cps

you can also convert the mfi engine to efi as tbh i found getting all the addaptor plates and the 1.8 pullys and machinging fooking long

bit of maths and ya sorted in 2 days

if ya choose to be brave om me and ill show ya

doh, i thought it was fairly straight forward.

well, a zetec flywheel will fit wont it?

i know both cvh and zetec use 220mm clutch (the same?) so it should fit shouldnt it?

and then its just a case of drilling a big hole in the block for the CPS?

its not that hard Christian. I know its not a simple case of plugging everything in, but it seriously doesnt take that long if you know what your doing.

is there any real point to you going EFI though? or is it purely so you can use the ECU?

I wouldnt bother going EFI personally.

Unless you doing a high spec build.

christian i recon aslong as i got all the parts i can do it in a day maybe 2

thats only cause i got to take the engine out and drill the block, apart from that the loom is piss and ripping to old crap out aint hard either

if anyone want to take me up on the challenge feel free and me and cowboi will do it over a weekend and get it running

now we got air tools and a proper block and tackle recon it might be quicker too

aslong as ya get a list of parts together and got a decent person to help then its easy

oh a serious note if ya want ill make another template for ya and post it for when ya drill the block as thats sooooo much easier and a better option than a 1.8 pully imo

OK, one question, Ive heard that OFAB is more tunable, or you can run more boost with it, that OFAC? Is this true or is OFAC ok to use, and can be converted anyway? I know u need ecu and map from same thing i.e ofab or ofac etc...

ofac has a 2.5 bar mapsensor and cant see boost after that, its not a normal mapsensor either so theres no add on ya can have, stu,,,, ok kenny@MSD can map ofac anyway and is a god with it

ofab has a normal 2 bar as standard which is the same as a cossie, you can add a 3bar mapsensor to it and allow the ecu to see 2 bar of boost ( where the ofac can only see 1.5bar)

if ya got a ofac loom, it can be converted easy and ive done it a few times and sorted all the teething issues

ive bought a ofac beige chip from msd and that was for 15psi and then check the fueling and then i converted the car to ofab and got a ofab beige chip ( sold the ofac chip with the ecu/mapsensor and converted that car to ofac) the ecu is easy, the easiest conversion is ofac as ya can get a xr2i loom and then all ya need is the map sensor as the plug is the same and ecu, then ya swop a few pins

ofab on a xr2i looms is swopping a few pins and also getting a ofab ecu and changing to a 3 bar mapsensor but ya also need the loom plug too and also theres a supressor ya need aswell which makes it a git as fords no longer stock the supressor, not sure if it works with out as theres mixed feelings on that subject

if ya running a beige converted frst and want no more than 15psi then ya aint gonna have a issue with either option

any more advice then just PM me as the efi conversion i dont before had a right git of a think on it and then we found the supressor was still in the loom and that makes a ofac car hit 3k then cut the ignition , took me a week to sort that problem

Cheers ginge, I have a complete xr3i EFI loom, but guess that will be no good if I used a frst ecu and map etc on it? Ideally would be to get a whole frst setup, just wonderd if I shouldopt for ofac or ofab
