Default Ford Cougar......would you buy

Mate is after a coupe, seen a Ford Cougar for 2895, FSH, blue with all the usual extras, going to see it tomorrow, has 112000 miles.

Questions

1. Would you buy one? if you were in the market for a coupe?

2. Is that mileage to high for one of these?

3. What common faults are there?

Any advice appreciated.

Basicly, yes. 2 door coupe mondeo.

If it's a 2.5 then i'd be tempted, as even if the performance isn't all that it does make a nice sound. Otherwise i wouldn't have one, slow & small inside. For a coupe thats as long as it is it really could do with better rear legroom [the boot is mahoosive mind] and a convertible roof, then it could be worth it!

must admit, I drove back his one from the auction [2.0 litre] and it wasn't too bad

personally would avoid a 100k mile +'er, but if its been looked after it should be ok for the price

if he wants a proper one, this is 50k miles, blue, alloys, air con, T reg etc, pm me or I might put an ad on in the cars for sale section when I can be bothered

I don;t get commission off his sales the coont

well, hardly ever post on here, but always looking (cossie power wanted next)

However, I do have a cougar, a v6 one. Yes, not entirely my cup of tea either, but I got mine fairly cheap.

And it's now done 143k miles and still going pretty well! Thinking of getting rid later in the year, but it doesn't miss a beat, which is top.

I think they are fairly nice looking tbh, and certainly nicer than the mondeos they are based on.

Personally I'd go for a v6, cause they really need the extra grunt, plus the v6 sounds lovely.
A few pics of mine....
