fao itsmeagain or any very knowledgable on imprezza
ive been offered a very early (1993)mint type ra which is the 240bhp model....it has a few mods which might give it 250/260 bhp but not much more...it also has a group n box which gears it to 115-120 mph top speed im very tempted but what would perforfance be like compared with a 2wd stage 3 cosworth which i owned before....top speed doesnt bother me but interested in 0-60,0-100 comparism

Depends wether you want.....
Veteran driver mark rs looks at me, drops the clutch and smiles as all hell brakes loose. The flat four's loping idle explodes into a steady roar barely audible over the rattle of broken tarmac spraying the underside of the car. The 4wd traction rockets him into next week.
or ..
The run through the supermarket carpark isn't bad, tho' the view of the road ahead is usually out the side window. There's plenty of room at the top of the hill as mark rs handbrakes it around the bus shelter, but I then learn the true meaning of wow factor as he accelerates down the hill, bears off to the right and thunders sideways up a road no wider than a double yellow line.
Totally of no use - but I just had to write it

the accelleration of an ra with that box is amazing, you find yourself changing gear every few seconds (it seems!!)
i was totally gobsmacked, grip is EVERYTHING
to be fair though was no faster (once rolling) than my 250hp rwd saph i had at the time, probably slower
the box is very deceiving
0-60 it will consistently piss the cossie, 60-100 will be WAY slower than a 330hp rwd saph

definately should be fun with a 4.8 standard 0-60 ....i know what you mean about the image of scoobies but the cosworth scene isnt much different and i just fancy a change..
