Nath - yeah been on there website but they are asking silly money for them. Ive got a couple in the pipeline but the current owners keep delaying the sale of them, saying 'its not for sale for a few weeks etc etc'.

Dan - no to Skylines unfortunately. I cant stand R32's, and R33 GTR V-Specs are a little out of my price range. Im not too fussed about high hp etc... just want a newer standardish reliable motor with aircon etc etc....

3doorPete - not keen on Supras... an ex bird have one and they handle like a tank! Already had an E36 M3 Evo!!

What about a Nissan 200SX - bit of a sleeper, but has an LSD, RWD, and loads of tuning potential? Can get really nice ones sub 8K, and get a really nice bike as well??

Guessing you won't entertain a Scoob as they don't handle...?

3DoorPete - had a 300zx and loved it, but got a feeling the 200sx's will be just as unreliable! I do like em though! Had a scooby as well matey... possibly tempted but hard to find a good one (owned a MINT W plate WRX!)

kev.h - not on your life - too gay for me!! Imagine it parked next to the purple bus!

Get THIS, 10.5k...

www.stertegarage.com

Black RX7 FD3S. Type R.

December 1992 (K reg)
50,000 miles

spec as follows,

T04S single turbo conversion,
HKS external wastegate venting straight to atmosphere,
Greddy profec B boost controller,
Large front mount intercooler and hard piping,
massive uprated radiator,
Knightsports headlight vent,
Knightsports vented bont (may be replica - not know - fit is good)
Underdrive pulley kit,
Straight through exhaust system with large rear silencer exit,
HKS induction kit,
Re-amemiya boost gauge and steering wheel pod,
Water temperature gauge,
Side skirts,
Beautiful 17" polished alloy wheels (make unknown)
10.5 cold rating NGK race plugs,
Magnecor ignition leads,
Panspeed mapped ECU,
Twin plate clutch,
Masdaspeed CF look gear knob,
Mazda optional side skirts,
Uprated front indicator/side lights.

(SUSPECT, but cannot guarantee the following)
Uprated fuel pump,
Uprated injectors,
Rebuilt and ported engine.

Other inclusions in price.
Good tyres, including Yokohama semi slicks on rear.
New Air filter just fitted,
Oil & filter just changed.

Car made 355.3bhp @ the Hubs @ 1 bar boost on Abbey motorsports dynapack. Air fuel ratio etc. all was good and the car was clearly mapped in Japan for 1 bar. Also no problems with UK optimax on the dynapack which is good. This equates to 400+bhp at the flywheel.

Car has recorded a 12.76 1/4 mile time at 116mph, the terminal speed therefore confirms the cars 400+bhp performance. Not the best time for a car that I believe is capable of low 12's late 11's.

Also recorded a speed of 166mph at 1.1miles, this was at 7500rpm in 5th gear, at 8,000 (redline) I expect the car will be making a top speed of just over 170mph.

Car will come with 6 months tax and new MOT, we will also service the car before sale.

I have had a lot of cars, but nothing quite as incredible as this. Makes Skyline GTR's, Supra's etc. seem mundane.
Definetely the loudest car I have ever driven this car is simply an assault on the senses.

This is not a car for using every day however, a very extreme car recomended for weeked use, trackdays and club events.

Many pictures and videos available for this car, please email me for more info.

Ł10,500 no offers.

GET IT! Got the looks (inside and out), the sound (u NEED to hear this car ), got PROVEN performance, and only running 1bar so reliable as fuck.

Bollocks to an EVO when you can have that!

only problems with the rx's are that the rotor tips tend to go at around 60k so if that one aint been rebuilt its not far off

Rebuilds are cheap. That car almost deffo has had a rebuild going by the spec and performance. Esp that much performance at only 1bar, the engines almost deffo been rebuilt n ported. 60k isnt strictly true either, but generally is in this country as most oweners has no clue about how to look after em.

exactly!! Not exactly gonna be a reliable motor!! I have test drove one of these, and although they are fairly quick (this one was standard), i found it very claustrophobic inside (even being an oompa loompa like I am!). Worse than my MR2 in fact.

That one does look the nuts though....

Just not an Imprezza.. Please

Personally I'd keep hunting for the Evo. The right car will turn up eventually. Thought about a Sunny or Pulsar GTi R? They can be a riot.

Don't want to sound like a Max Power reader but what about a Saxo VTS with a turbo on it? Seen one pushing 170bhp from only 7psi of boost and on the standard bottom end. Just a thought,

should I get my coat now?

RX7 looks nice - - Are there many people who can work on these if it does blow though?? I have no idea how much harder/different Wankel is to work on vs normal piston engine??

BTW rotories are cheap to rebuild as theres almost no parts compared to a piston engine.

Only trouble WAS getting a decent person to do it, but theres a few in the UK now.

You shouldve seen the Dragon Autosport Rx7 at Rotorstock a few weeks ago, AWESOMELY fast.

A few different companys Rx7s running 11s that day

My thinking was the cars are cheap as chips, barely weigh much more than a damp tea towel and the turbo conversion was advertised at just Ł1700 drive in drive out. 2 of my mates have VTS's and if you ignore the faults (I know it's hard) they are great fun.

Just trying to throw ideas into the cooking pot.

How about an Evo 5 RS....? Are there many around?

Not many creature comforts but it only weighs 1250kg - 220kg less than latest Evo 8's, plus oversteers for England apparently??

Deano- Because nobody seems to realise the V-Spec isnt any better.

Ive heard people saying "id only want a v-spec as i want 4wd not RWD" and people thinking V-specs have more power etc...

Excuse my ignorance but what is the V-Spec. In the world of people who think that modding a car is adding an air freshener (What Car readers and the like), they say that V-specs come with more than the 280 Jap regulated BHP, and come with 550BHP.....

V-Spec is same car really, jus slightly harder susp (which makes it handle worse on the road), and a few "major" improvments like that...

Oh god the pain ................................... sorry Pete

Right V-SPEC = Victory Specification as to give it FULL title is little more than standard GTR but has a finned rear diff cover to aid cooling , has 10mm lower suspension and a slightly improved attessa system AND THATS IT

A V-SPEC doesn not have anymore power than a NON V-SPEC
