Hi I have the chance to buy a series 1 Pectal baby board but Iam not sure if it is capable of running Anti lag
My mate thinks you need a series 2 board and above to run it.
does anyone know for sure as I don't want to waste my money.
cheers Dave.

The board is ONLY a key.
It depends ONLY on the chip type fitted !!!
You need to talk to a PECTEL approved software supplier for exact details before making any purchase.

the board is not required to run antilag - only required to run pectel software protected by pectels own keys

yes , P8 is the only weber ecu that can run als without a board ( bear in mind the board is only for ecryption-but if i was to sell you a chip with als on it I wouold encrypt it also
hence why you have to pay for boards) - mainly due to its ability to its timing functions after and before (
) TDC

Round and Round and Round
The bottom line is if you want ALS buy the board, or find the software and keys
an ALS board is not that much new
i would rather have a new one that has done 0 miles compared to a second hand one out of a Rally car with years or use and abuse

turbodisplay ,
You can only go about 10 degrees after TDC on a 4 cyl EDIS module.
Not quite enough for backfires let alone ALS

re-read the post - the board is there for software encryption, the P8 cant do anything without software !

as long as the software was included on the chip that is on the board, basically you cant get the software for free, you need to buy it encrypted and to do this you need the pectel board to allow the encrypted software to work.

Yeah, i know it is limited to +10 degrees on edis, however if the reference point of tdc for cylinder 1 was relocated by 10 - 20 degrees the efective range can now be -40 to +30.
Only problem is that limp home mode will now be +10 TDC instead of - 10.
So the question is, will 30 degrees atdc be good enough?
