Rudey, if you want to do it in style, there is a resort next to the one we go to (forget the name), it's very expensive.

Someone we met on our last trip did a week there and a week at ours, he said ours looked like a 2* after the other one, and yet we thought it was pretty good It is a 4* after all

I'm sure MrsFrog will know which one I am on about.

Hadn't thought of that, sounds like an excellent idea!

Our first long haul holiday was to StLucia, loved the place, but, we couldn't shake the beach sellers who would try to sell you anything.
I understand the locals need to earn a living somehow, but when you pay a lot of money for your holiday, and need a break, the last thing you want is to be harrased over and over again.
The maldives are the ONLY place I know of where you are guaranteed no harrassement whatsoever.

Nice one Racey We'll be out there then too lol!!

We got married in Mauritius last yr (May) and had a fabulous time, on our wedding night party my wife's sister was proposed to by her long time boyfriend as they were there with us. Now we're going back this coming November to watch them tie the knot, they wanted to go back as they thought it was so wonderful

We'll be out the from Nov 6th I think for 12 nights, staying with http://www.beachcomber.com.au/mauritius/shandrani.htm

Its early summer in November and more importantly the start of the Blue Marlin season lol (i'm a keen fisherman see)

We married at http://www.beachcomber.com.au/mauritius/victoria.htm

Beachcomber make you feel like you're royalty lol

You'll have a fab time, Port Louis is a bit rough round the gills but so is any main town! The resorts are out of this world.

One day though we WILL get to go to the Maldives, thought about the wedding there but you HAVE to have a hindu wedding ceremony or something like that, so we went Mauritius instead
