Married at last and home from Maldives :)
Hello to all
Well after stressing about our wedding for approx 18 months it turned out to be the most wonderful day ever People can say its the best day of their lives and i always thought yeah maybe but it truly is. What an atmosphere with 120-160 people all there purely to see you and your new wife get married
The night before was great with my best man, groomsman and 2 ushers crashing at our house while the mrs went to her dads. Only problem was 1 of my ushers drinking 1.5l of smirnoff and hurling in my toilet all night
The day itself was so great and went without incident. I woke up and looked out to see a beautiful day. Just the perfect balance between sunny and not too boiling We all got ready and headed to the local for couple drinks before going to the church. When we headed there it began to sink in but i wasnt really nervous. It was strange feeling though with everyone coming to say hello and good luck.
Myself and best man ducked round the back of the church to await the bride but i couldnt help notice the only missing people were RW, his mrs Sally and Andy R. I honestly had visions of a black M3 rounding the bend next to the church sideways and tearing up the road before screeching to a halt but no they werent to be seen. I still hadnt seen them until we came out of the church where RW said he actually overtook my mrs in her bridal car coming to the church at 140mph
Anyways the service was excellent and over in a flash. Before i knew it there was no going back
We had to sign the marriage certificate and that was not easy with my broken hand I took the pen gingerly in my sore hand and went to start writing. It wasnt until i put hand on table that i realised the pen tip was 2" off the table due to my cast lol I tried my best and got a shockingly bad signature but at least i could tell her it was my get out clause if i changed my mind because it was unrecogniseable
Rest of the afternoon was the usual meet and greet then loads of photos with the photographer. I cant wait to see them as the setting was immense with a river right by the hotel. As the afternoon got closer the thought of speeches and the dreaded first dance sprung to mind although it felt progressively better as the champagne/beer went down
Before i knew it i was standing up giving my speech to 125 pairs of eyes staring me down. It went really well i thought and i was glad to finish. Best mans speech was excellent also and brought a few laughs. Not too incriminating/embarrasing either which is nice
After the meal the thought of the dancing was not good(as per my thread before hand ) BUT much to my susprise it was a piece of piss! We all did a grand march where all the guests got up and then the band announce the first dance for the new couple and i bricked it. However it was ZERO stress and made rather easy by the fact there is a big fuck off dress swooshing at her feet so we couldnt move much anyways, RESULT
Rest of the night passed in what felt like 5 mins but was truly awesome. At the end we were both hoisted in the air which was scary having 1 broken hand already That soon passed and we retired to the marital suite
The next day we had brekkie with those that stayed and then the mad rush began to go home, pack for the honeymoon and then we were at the airport for 2pm. We checked in sat down and heaved a sigh of relief that it was all done and dusted with only 2 weeks in the maldives to look forward to
I'll post up a seperate Maldives thread if anyone wants the pics because its AWESOME there!!
I was about to post a couple wedding pics but i think i left my disk drive at her sisters last night We havent seen many yet but got a couple of good ones fit for viewing I'll post pics later this morning.
Anyways sorry for the ginge like post but its such a great day worth talking about

im fucked if i know as she booked it lol. based on a ford though but you just reminded me of the most ridiculous chat with the driver on the way to hotel. I asked what the engine was as it sounded beefy. To my amazement he says "sierra cosworth". I thought he was joking so asked no really? And he says yes really. When i realised he was serious i said i've actually got one and its certainly not sierra cossie and more likely granada cossie. He said no way and was adamant. Then the best bit...the car was made from a c reg sierra saff base model into this wedding kit car. I was getting mad lol so i just shut up.

Well in mate.
That's us passed the year to go marker. 1st August next year for us.
Glad the dancing went ok.
I've only been given one job to do and I did it on Thursday night. My best mate works in the Philipines and he's home for a week or 2 so asked him if he'd be best man, which he agreed to. So I can now sit back and relax.
Coco,
Think the car is a beaufort. We looked at a few when we were picking our cars. Think we're getting one of them for Donna & her Dad, I'm going in the S1.
