Advice Needed Please...
I need other peoples advice...
I think it's a good idea, but Damo thinks it's shite.
I want to put a flat LCD screen in the car, at the bottom by the gearstick and a slimline PS2 in the glove box. I think it would be good for when you are at shows etc and there is nothing to do, or for when you are on a long drive. Whack on a DVD instead of listening to the same old songs on the radio.
I know my car isn't really that kind of car, as I kinda want it to be quick, not for show.
Damo thinks it's a bad move. What you think???

looks ten times better imho,,,,picked mine up on e-bay for Ł300 (fooking bargain)

I guess I agree with you about the postition, might be too low down...
Hmmmmmmmmmmm
M K - Bargin mate
Sorry m8, but I'm with Damo, with regards to the theft of the screen, if you can't nick it, break it. You can't watch The A - Team on a smashed screen.
I have often thought about doing the full screen action, 1 in each headrest, I on the head unit, awesome surround sound for it, and I would quite happily drive around with 80's Nostalgia, The A-Team, The Dukes Of Hazzard, and gentlemen's art for special show's and stuff, but again, it's the security of it

tony anylocation where ya can actually see it makes it a offence unless it has a handbrake switch fitted ( there a earth btw if ya wanna bypass it, not a posative !!!!!)
what about a roof mounted screen or 2 screens in the sun visors
actually a mate of mine has 2 2ins screens in his outside heater vents, they aint the best to see but it sets the car off

But I don't see why someone is more likely to steal a Ł100 screen, than they are to steal my million Ł worth of gauges?
You of all people should know my car never leaves my sight when it's out

TBH i wouldnt fit a screen, i mean you dont want to be out at a show and playing GT4 on the PS2 and for other people to actualy witness me whooooopin' you around every track now would you
I think if you had of gone for a "show" car then LCD screen would be a must, but your have gone for more of a Mint "Motorsport" style so imo its just not in keeping with the whole style of the car.

I wouldn't.. it is only something else to come flyout out the dash and smack you in the face if the worst happens!
b19bal, it is only illegal if it is playing a film or tv. Look at just about every new car, they all have screens in the drivers view and they don't turn off when you start moving, they just display sat nav/radio info/air con stuff etc

trust me on this one
satnav is the only exception as the rest have fixed picture when doing it so it dont distract the drivers attention
the sat nav is a driving aid though like a speedo, rev counter and requires browsing over not actually looking

As if
I think I will just use the laptop then. I do need to have some switches in the car so they will go by the gearstick instead then.
Thanks for your opinions all.
