hello all, ive been installing some car audio and now i have it fired up it sounds ok but if i turn the volume down there is a humming noise, anyone know what may cause this and what i can do to cure it cheers

 

hi m8, if you have run your rca leads too near the power lines to the amps you will pick up interferance from the engine. you need a noise resistor (i think thats what its called) that will stop the interferance, you can get them from any car audio shop or somewhere like halfords tell them what its for and they will give you the right thing.

 

sounds like a cheap amp too me,,,, supression is crap in them

it is good practice to run the rca's away from the power cables,, but in practice (done a far few) it doesnt make a blind bit of difference

 

Its a directed Audio amp so it pretty good quality i have run the pwer cable and rca leads seperate but have run the amp remote with the rca lead
