Pershings is a back office settlements company i think. They destribute their own software to various investment banks etc... i used to support it when I was at SocGen a few years back....

Spot on Chris.

It's a clearing house amongst other things that small brokerages (and some bigger ones and exchanges too) use to settle their trades. We've had dealings with them in the past but not too sure about the company. I'll have a word with a couple of peeps ehre and see what they reckon. How soon do you need to know?
