Default CLIVE broke down again last night!

I am just so jinxed with this car its unreal!

driving down the M25 at just gone 8 last night.... i see my temperature guage go through the roof! i thought 'OH FUCK.... not again!' so i pulled over.... lifted the bonnet... everything seemed to be ok.... i sat there for just over 2 hours!!!..... let her cool down.... started her up and the temperature was fine! but by this time a friend of mine had come out and brought me some water just to make sure.... well.... her water was low ( BUT NOT EMPTY IM NOT THAT DIM! lol ) so drove a mile down the road to Clacket services... where her temperature started to go through the roof again!

anyway to cut a long story short... got a recovery truck out... the guy who looked at it loved cossies so he had a good check over.... and hey presto! MY RADIATOR IS FUCKED! Pissing water out everywhere!

so yet again... my car is off the road!

But cheers to Yum, Spiky, Gem and Brom for letting me bend their ears over the phone last night!

Gutted for you Maria. You seem to be having a run of bad luck with Clive

Just noticed the reg number in your sig 666. Thats got to be the source of all your problems

Get a private plate on it, that should sort it all out

Sorry, not really a helpful reply but it's still a bit early in the morning for me

Horrible luck that, although whoever refitted the radiator during your rebuild should have given it a quick look over really, but these things happen sometimes sadly no matter how careful you are.

Fingers crossed that you havent toasted the headgasket by overheating it now, or worse still warped the head.

If it was me then if the temperature was really high like that i would really want to pull the head off and get it checked for flatness now, and fit a new gasket, rather than risk the gasket letting go in a big way and causing further problems.
All depends on how hot it was and how long for though of course, luckily the YB will take a reasonable amount of abuse if built correctly.

sorry to hear it maria hope you get it sorted.

i had my rad recored last year by some company near Heathrow and then 8 months later it started leaking from the end tanks

got a mate to send it to someone he knows who recores rads part time (6 months of the year, and then goes on holiday for the other 6 months ) He makes the cores bigger and you really can notice the difference.

and it only cost be about 100 quid too

Brom, wasnt trying to point the finger at you, so no need to get defensive, as i said, these things just happen sometimes, it can be just about to let go when you look at it but not gone yet.

As for wether or not you took the Rad out, from what Maria was saying at paintball about the amount of work done on her car it sounded like a pretty much full on rebuild, so i figured you would have had everything out of it including the Rad.

Based on everything ive seen of Brom on here, and based on what people who know him like Doug have mentioned about him i have nothing but the upmost respect for the guy and his abilities, and im inteding at some point to stick one of his beams on my car.

Got no intention of falling out with him whatsoever!
(especially having seen the size of the fooker )
