Why does dipping the clutch give such a power gain?
I tried it earlier for about the third time since I had the RST in 2nd and it nearly threw me back into my seat and it felt fooking rapid compared to what it is usually like!
Is it meant to give such a gain or does it mean my clutch is fooked?
If I get an uprated one will it solve the problems?

you mean being in gear and pressing and releasing it?
its cause the engine revs up and then releases all that extra momentum in a split second through the clutch
there is no more actual power there though

Something must be wrong with mine then as it seemed to go a lot quicker for the rest of that gear...not just half a second

Other things that can increase power include:
pressing the accelerator
not towing a caravan
not going up steep hills
not being pressed up against a wall when you try and pull away
having air in your tyres
All of those are secret tips the formula one teams use, and i shouldnt really be telling you them

Thanks itsmeagain, thats the kind of thing I was thinking was happening but I must just be imagining it and if I dropped down from 2nd to 1st it might not be very good for the gearbox

dipping the clutch will deliver more instant power, when the clutch is disengaged the revs will build much quicker, so when you release the clutch its like a power surge going into the gearbox. it won't really get you any where quicker, especially when your clutch go's bang.
it gives you no extra power, just makes the engine & turbo spin up quicker, oh, & it will decrease the life of your car!
