Default so whats the oficial combusion chamber volume for a zetec-E

im geting conflicting numbers from diferent people between 45 to 50 CC without head gasket

so can some one look it up for me and put my out of my misery

measure your own, all heads vary, especially when they are no longer new and may have been skimmed

i know mate i was just after the official spec of a zetec head to find out what it actualy is

what it "ACTUALY" is can ONLY be found out be measuring it

i take it nobdy knows and in going to get thease silly responses all day

and i do agree with what you are both saying about mesuring etc..

im shure all the heads come out of the factory pretty close to the designed spec and thats the number in after!!!

Fair enough, quoted figure is alright for working out approx CR etc, i assume that is what you are trying to do?

Im afraid you are right about me not having the figure though, sorry mate.

yup im after working out my c/r but people keep telling me diferent numbers so i wonderd if anyone could dig one up from a haynes manual or have already mesured the head

48cc AFAIK - I never measured one though. Gasket is 0.9mm (metal one) so you can work out the extra cc depending on bore size.
