Default 5th injector - when is it needed?

Just wondering at what power a 5th injector is needed on the ERST?

Also at what power is an uprated fuel pump needed?

Mine was running 20psi on standard KE Jetronic. The 5th injector was added and boost was raised to 25psi

Your car will still need setting up if its running 20Psi on ke-jet.
A fuel modification will be needed to supply the extra fuel required for the extra air your engine is consuming.
this can be done with the standrd ke-jet fueling and all that is required (as far as i understand it anyhow ) is a pressure increase.
the problem is that the ke-jet will overfuel on idle and mid throttle but will be fine on WOT.. this isnt a problem TBH as it will cool the bores etc.
The only thing is it will sting your wallet as it will gobble fuel hence why most people will go for a 5th injector after 20 odd Psi as it is MUCH more economical than running modified ke-jet only.

It made 200bhp on 18psi with an old style Pace interwarmer. It was increased to 20psi but was never dyno'd before the 5th injector went on. Still on standard fuel pump now with no issues . Pumps been on at least 9 years without being touched as that's how long I've had her for

lucky boy

i went through 4 pumps in a year once. wasnt expesnive but a pain in the arse to change

10 quid from scrappys then an afternoon under the car in the road, problem was, when the petrol leaks out onto the road it melts the tar in the asphalt which then promptly sticks to your skin and is a real nightmare to get out
