Default Cossie T5 Box problem......

Ive noticed that my g.box is being a bitch when trying to get into 1st a lot of the time, then yesterday, it just wouldnt go in at all. Does anyone have any suggestions on what this could be? when i did manage to get it into gear, it nearly got stuck and i couldnt get it out again. Would oil cause a problem like this, or is it more serious?

Cheers
Mike

if it isn't then i suggest a phone call to 'bernie the box' as it will be a selector problem

Kevmk2 mentioned it could be the bulk rings as he knew someone that had the same problem. Is it an expensive fix?

Cheers

If it only is difficult to select first gear whilst stationary (i.e. it goes from second to first no problem while moving), then it is likely to be the clutch dragging.

This can be caused by four things.
1. Flywheel has hot spots on it that need surface grinding to remove.
2. Clutch cable has stretched not allowing the clutch to disengage properly.
3. Ratchet isn't adjusting correctly on clutch peddle.
4. Clutch is fucked.

A combination of all four of the above .
