Default shell identity?

Evening all,i have the opertunity of getting a new 3 door shell ,but the owner has no documentation for the shell as its new,.
How, when the re shell is done do i prove that its a new shell in order to be able to get my id taken over via the points system ,.
All help appriciated befor i go spending ,loads on what could ,but shouldnt turn out to be a QQQQ plate.
As i think thats what could happen.
Will picture evidence of the shell and the work in progress be sufficient??

As long as the shell is new then it's a direct replacement and a Q will ot be issued.

Get a receipt, take pics and the V5 and resale value should be fine.

Quote from DVLA website:

"A new chassis or monocoque bodyshell of the same specification as the original supported by evidence from the dealer/manufacturer (e.g. receipt) "

Ring VOSA to check what to do as it is a private sale.

www.vosa.gov.uk. They do the SVA test etc.

I think if you don't tell them they won't come looking. Loads of cars get re-shelled and don't do SVA.

You must have a reciept from the original dealer to prove its a new shell. Without this you cannot prove the shells true origin and it will be issued with a Q plate.

Default shell

Why cant you stamp the new shell with the same number as the old shell, if the old one is being crushed who cares. i dont think the metal has traceable DNA.

Get some 10mm high stamps and stamp the shell yourself.

http://www.machinemart.co.uk/ranges.asp?g=106&r=2045

060720321 is the letter punches

060720325 is the number punches

Probably do a better job than 'professionals' too.

At 7.30 this morning that was a sound idea!

What would you suggest then? cut the old floor out and weld it in? No one else has offered a solution.

Personally, I would leave it blank and just rebuild the car and enjoy it.

If you got prove it's a new shell and your using all the parts from the original(GET YOUR LOLCAL VEHICLE REGISTERING CENTRE TO COME AND VIEW) then you can take it to your local Ford dealer along with the relevant paper work job done

IF YOU GET THE OLD BILL TO DO IT THEN THEY WILL STAMP IT ALONG THE STRUT SAME AS SOME OF THE OLD Q PLATERS HAVE
