Just a quick question on how these are chosen, do they ask to be on ean explain on what they have to offer for the site?

Just wondering as a argument has came up on a local cruise site an thought id ask how this one works...

Well i started as a signature moderator checking there wasnt over 25k etc and after about a month i asked could i become a full mod status and so it was done

There was also a point where you put your name down to be a mod then stu and petrucci gathered a shortlist of name that were put to the public vote ie the members decided who became moderator.

Well you see Stu and pet and the other mods get together in the citadel of MSD, lock all the doors, turn off their phones, put up anti spy devices and then sit and vote on who have said they would like to be a mod.

If the votes dont produce any new mods stu puts his cossie on the roof, cranks up the fueling so everyeone can see the black smoke comming out of it.

Then they vote again untill they reach a decision.

Then Stu puts a cossie with a fooked turbo on the roof and runs it untill white smoke comes out so everyone knows the new mods have been chosen.

And thats it

Whan a space becomes available its one of 2 ways.

1st few times it was done by a vote, more lately its been chosen by the site admin via direct selection as far as I know. (to stop vote rigging )

As a general rule ive found on forums that i use that anyone who *really* wants to be a mod is normally the sort of overzealous touchy idiot that is the last person you want as a moderator, normally the ones who grudgingly accept the position out of a sense of duty (how stu is really if he is honest I suspect as he struggles to find the time) are the ones who are actually moderate as opposed to nazi-like.
