Default Pics of white nova on MO's up pod today?

Had a wicked day today and saw some lovely cars, I was so busy getting burnt and queing for the strip that I forgot to give my camera to someone to take some piccys.

As it was a Ford day I hardly expected much respect from anyone for showing up in a nova but plenty of people came over and said they liked it which was great.

A few of us came up there, so if anyone has any pics or videos of these cars could they let me know

Corvette Stingray (red)
white Nova (with ridiculous kit and lambo doors lol)
My white nova (black MO's on the back and rubber all up the side)

Top day all round and well done to the organizers and all that made it happen, weather was spot on after all the misleading weather reports and all I definately want to do now is get my bloody escort done

anyone want to buy a nova ??? lol

cheers all

That nova with the kingdom front bumper was a really hideous little creation, someone should have called the fassion police, but funny as hell though that it was running times that put well over 50% of the cossies i saw running to shame

Think Phil took this pic of the Stingray...

I remember that revs Mk2 escort. Really wanted that. Got the mags at home still where you could win it.

Was a cracking Nova parkde on one of teh RS stands. Looked like a very clean and tidy conversion Even though a couple of my mates took the mick cos I said I liked it. Decent Nova's are few and far between these days, that was a nice one

Its really more of an engine swap than an engine conversion, its really very easy.

Its really very easy, honestly.

Only thing of any importance is welding up the bay to take the extra power/weight, otherwise it ends up ripping the front end off.

i got some pics of the novas! i will put them up later!
the welding is getting there, still waiting for my engine mounts to be delivered, i spoke 2 one of the nova boys, the white one with the white wheels i think.
he said he was running 14.4 with a standard engine. looks like my xr2 turbos mates have some competion when its done!
I'll be there for the rwyb days soon.

Good fun cars for feck all money 2 litre novas, add a nitrous kit are you are into the 12s pretty easily (i got 13.3 on mine the only day i bothered to run it at the pod, and that was in limp home mode and with a slipping clutch, was full road weight and had camping stuff in it too!)
Devastatingly quick cars for very litte money.

Gear linkage is a non event on the F20 gearbox, doesnt take any time at all, you just use half the nova bits and half the astra (or cav etc) bits and it all connects together nice and easy.

Here is a pic of my car taken at Donnington

I have had quite a few xe novas now, and although they are simple to put together, people still throw them together on the cheap which is good but it doesn't make them a good all round car.

heres a short list of things that have been done

40k 2l 16v XE with 50 shot of gas approx 210bhp
F20 gearbox with Quaife LSD
Fully seam welded
Spax fully adjustable coilovers
Concentric top mounts
Protec bearing tie bar drop mounts
Road tires

Nik with the corvette was well impressed with my time for such a small hit of gas, eventually I'll use a highpower kit and if you read Chips signature you should get an idea of how quick it should be then.

Car in my sig, i built in a total of 20 hours on a budget of 200 quid plus bits i already had lieing around to prove a point.

Easy to get into the 12s though, if my bravo used my nitrous kit instead of his he would be running well under 13.

Turbo Terry- yeh the car is well in pieces now, the shell I have to admit was the most thrown together piece of crap I've ever seen, I had it sandblasted and thats made me realise its game over for that shell, Revs put some nice bits on it but I think the shell was on its way out before they started.

I brought a 330 +bhp Yb that had just been fully rebuilt to get teh ball rolling but I'm not going to be using that shell, It needs a new bulkhead, chassis rails dont look too clever and I haven't even dared look round the back of it although whoever welded it up, wrote cunt in weld under the fuel tank lol

I'm on the hunt for a good shell that doesn't need much restoring as the suspension setup alone is going to cost me a fair few quid and I wouldn't want to waste it on a shell that might not last long enough.

Anyway which Terry is this lol I know a few

Chip- I was thinking maybe 12's on a highpowerkit, I was launching off the line with gas, soooooo much grip even on road tires

Not especially quick for novas, but certainly did pretty well, saw them stuffing quite a few cossies which was probably a bit dissapointing to some of the cossie owners.

300bhp?

you sure?

Last year i chucked together a nova to win a bet, that was 270bhp or so, and on the day of the pod it was in limp home mode on the ecu, had a blowing exhaust and the clutch was slipping like a fooker, i still got a 13.3 with full interior and a load of camping gear etc in the car.

Certainly sounds like either he is making up those figures or cant drive, lol

Mine should have been 12s really, shame the clutch let go but it was all i had lieing around and i literally built it in the space of a couple of weekends.

My other nova should be going far quicker this year, but i seem to be busy too many weekends at the moment to get the bloody thing finished, the gear linkage for example needs a lot of work and the clutch is a bit of a coont too.

that engine is definately making 300bhp but the reasons for the crappy times are:

a: 2nd day of having a let nova
b: he only knows full throttle launches lol
c: badly setup car as only finished early hours of that morning
d: no diff

Its actually my old engine that was in my grey nova when I raced you up the pod when u done your clutch chip, it was standard power then but I learnt my lesson and sold it and built myself a nice xe nova with gas as it seems you proved that they are better.

I dont disbelieve for a second that your nova would of done a 12, it was bloody flying that day, totally rinsed me

your rwd one will be mental though, maybe someday you can take me for a spin in that, would be quite a experience

Jon, if i ever manage to put the finnishing touches on the fooker and get it back on the road you are welcome to take it for a spin mate, it should be a good giggle
