Not sure what the question is ?

Most engines will idle stronger when richer than stioch. Although deliberately doing it down into the 12's is just stupid and pointless.

IMO it points to either bad tuning or other problems they're trying to work around.

So is there no way of adjusting the idle down to lower revs? I cannot see why it has to be so high.

His post appeared to be about mixtures, nothing to do with rpm.

He was asking why his car idles at over 1200rpm.

His post/problem is quite vague.

So when he says "it loves idling in the high 12s "he is not talking about RPM?

No - AFR. 14.7 being lambda, 12 being rich(er)

Thanks for the explanation, I had wrongly thought he was talking about a high RPM idle speed which would be annoying if it was over 1200rpm.
