Default The end of the Fiesta

Just heard that by next year the Ford Fiesta will be no more.

I think its a shame to loose such an iconic make of car.

I just wanna know if Ford will keep on making cars in Europe. The Mondeo has gone, the Focus is going and now the Fiesta. If you look of the line up of Fords compared to vw there isn't a great selection of cars.
years ago everybody had Fords,Vauxhalls,Renaults and Peugeots. These days everybody has Mercs,Audis,Bmws,Jags and land rovers.

I also think the prices of Fords are a fortune and i think this is why there are more Bms,Audis,Mercs on the road. Why pay 14k for a mondeo when you could have a Bmw 3 series.

Yup all part of their going all-electric plan.
Sad, but its had a good run! Hot hatches seem to be dying out in general, or getting so big they are basically 4x4's (looking at you Mini!). Sad state of affairs

Seems crazy to axe the Fiesta, must be Ford's best seller over the years?

46 yrs not a bad inning though.

I like how car makers want to go electric but what about ships, aeroplanes and trucks ie logistical and industrial transportation. If you go onto marine traffic and zoom out you will be amazed at how many vessels sail our seas and 90% of vessels are diesel powered. They probably produce way more carbon gases than cars same as trucks. I don't see those OEMS designing electric systems for those transportation modes in a hurry.

Also I'm I stay on the African continent and alot of the countries here still support and make use of normal vehicles that are diesel and petrol powered and a very far cry from the elctric market .

we looked at a Ford ranger wild track. It was far too exspensive. We looked at mondeos, c63 Amg, c220, we settled for a 60
plate BMW X1 as it was so Much cheaper. What hurts me the most is my dream car is a fiesta rs turbo over 25 years I’ve dreamed of one , and for me their out of reach now, I just seen a escort rs turbo on eBay for over 40 grand with over 100k miles! I’ll find the eBay item number.

Just sucks fords are just getting over priced

The idea of everyone switching to electric cars, vans ,lorries etc is just not reality at present. Far to expensive and still questions about long term reliability and enough mechanics trained to service them. My Brother - in-law in Australia reckons there are hardly any electric cars sold over there, swop your petrol V8s for an uninspiring electric car,not going to happen for a long time!!

From a quick Google it seems EV's aren't cheap either so what gives. you would think less mechanical parts definitely more electrical, electronics microchips etc. Buy shouldn't this still be cheaper?

Also if automakers are so guided and gearing towards EV. The demand for power is going to increase significantly ie more power stations needed and more battery production facilities needed. Etc

EV's will be paying road tax in the next couple years aswell. then when ICE cars become less and less, that will be increased. Then electricity will increase in cost again & the car will be expensive aswell. Is there really a benefit of an EV over an ICE? The environmental benefit may be there but by how much when you consider the mining for the battery materials (lithium), transportation, manufacturing process etc etc.

An alternative fuel for vehicles is already available which is 100% green, Hydrogen!!! Why is it not being developed quickly around the world? Fill up at a pump as now, no loss in power and the only thing coming out of the exhaust is water vapour!!!
