'Cos a 6 speed sequential box for the Skyline is Ł6.5k apparently, it must work out cheaper than the normal Cossie equivalents that can take 650+ bhp

It's no cheaper than the Quaife sequential, BUT the Quaife is fixed 4wd, the Skyline one can be switched to rwd for ultimate arse out action (which is apparently what Martin really likes ).

Dave

Not really... you price up any other FORD 4wd Sequential gearbox ....

a Getrag Sequential about 40K brand new and about 15/20k second hand

FFD is not Sequential but it's dog engagement 6k/8k secondhand

O.s Sequential gearbox is about 7k BRAND NEW and is rated at 1100bhp say fited in car with bellhousing/ pumps electric about 9k all in ..

then you have got a proper pice of kit for a 1/4 of the price of a proper singing and dacing Getrag gearbox

so it's not really

and then you have the luxury of either RWD or 4WD what ever you prefer

mike... i suggest you get your quaife catalogue out and take a look! they do a sequential box for as little as Ł5k BUT its a rwd box! their heavy duty sequential rwd box is Ł6.5k plus Ł350 for a belhousing and Ł360 for a digital gear position indicator ... making this box Ł7200 plus vat. the gearbox in the quaife range you should be comparing mine to is thier 4x4 sequential , which costs Ł9450 plus gear indicator and belhousing making it Ł10160 plus vat also dont forget that this is a 'direct top' gear set (1:1 in 6th).

Default Martin

just wondering.is the bellhousing sand casted or is it mould casted.sand casted is probably more expensive than mould casting.since you have to construct the mould for every bellhousing.

if i want a box like that how much would have to be modified to the car itself?
new diffs?(wrong ratio i think?)
transmission tunnel?
the gearbox itself(some wrong ratios there aswell?)

hope for a reply soon

best regards
Geir
