I have a 09 Focus 1.8 tdci , just lately while driving there’s a clunk and engine warning light comes on , alarm sounds then no power . Not every day but now and then .restart the engine and it ticks over really rough , juddering . After a few tries it starts and drives ok . If anyone has a idea what it is it would be appreciated .

 

I would start by having the fault codes read. That might save a lot of time and money.

 

The first job I would be doing is changing the fuel filter.
