Default Dump valve removal chatter etc

Back in the day we used to remove blank dump valve, fit cone filter for the most awsome chatter noise

i remember ppl used to say kills turbos never harmed ours

so mine on greens with t34 With .48 housing
has a std airbox and aftermarket dump valve

set up by msd couple year back

can I still fit cone filter and do this?

not keen on dump valve noise to be honest

Someone said turbo would be fine on that sort of power

I have never had an aftermarket dump valve on my 2wd Saff, never had a problem and my ITG Cone filter is inside a Group A air box which keeps things cooler and prevents the possibility of any debris getting sucked into the turbo through the filter.

had this set-up for past 15 years and it works fine.

Why not just use the std airbox and drill big holes in the lower part of airbox behind the head light. I have done this in mine and got nice chatter noise and standard look

How does it make it louder? In the same way how does a cone filter make it louder?

Before I got my Group A airbox the cone filter did make a quite loud "chatter" noise. Any Cone filter will be the same although it's nothing like the loud noise from a dump valve. Most people like the sound it makes with a cone filter or a drilled out flat airbox.

Forgot to say the size of the hose from your turbo to the cone filter will depend on the size and make of it. If you buy one just tell them what turbo you have and the company you buy it from will supply the correct size hose to the cone filter.

When I changed mine to stage 3 I put a standard airbox back on as old filter was knackered (and blanked dump valve) it felt like the car was choking and holding back.
So i put a group A cone filter on, car was much better and chatter seems pretty loud now.

Been running mine with blanked off dump valve and group a filter for over 13 years now and old t3 is still holding up ok. Lovely chatter noise I wouldn't want to lose that.

That is the only thing with my group A airbox it does make the sound of the turbo/cone filter much quieter.
