Default dump valve

Im thinking about removing my dump valve and blocking the hole on my saff so you get the nice chatter from the filter, is this a wise idea as i hear many different opinions?

no problems whatsoever unless you was running a T4.

well the air is going back into the compressor rather than spat out to air via the dump valve so you can see its not great but with a 360 degree bearing in the turbo no bothers, even 270 bearing can survive, with the T4 the volume of air is too much!

because in theory you can, but reality proves otherwise, and people like talking about shit they never tested.

Like stavros says, the theory behind it makes it seem like you could cause damage, but it's highly unlikely. I don't personally know anyone who has actually had a fucked turbo due to damage caused by running like this.

Depending on how bad the back pressure is when the throttle closes it might feel abit sluggish on the pick up compared to when you had a dump valve on it.

I ran a T34 at 30psi for years with no DV and no bother, and that thing had the shit raped out of it bigtime.

Also ran a few other cars with no DVs and 20psi+ too.

you ever tried that, or just more shit you heard?

IMO it makes fuck all difference and never heard or seen any proof it makes it more responsive, even tho theory says it might.
